Before the meeting
- Read Philippians 3:7-14 and skim days 22 to 30.
- Ask everyone to bring their next steps plan, filled in or not.
- Allow extra time. This meeting looks back over the month and plans what comes next.
Open (10 minutes)
Ask each person to share, looking back over the whole month:
- One discovery about Jesus
- One question they still have
- One prayer need as they keep going
Read together (10 minutes)
Read Philippians 3:7-14 aloud. Paul is still pressing on. So are we.
Discuss (30 minutes)
Questions marked ★ matter most if time runs short.
- ★ Where were you waiting for obedience to feel easy before you started? What happened when you took the first step? (Day 22)
- What early warning usually comes before a familiar temptation? Who will you contact when it appears? (Day 23)
- Day 27 asked you to write three sentences about why Jesus matters to you. Would anyone share theirs?
- ★ Has shame kept you away from prayer, Scripture, or other disciples this month? (Day 29)
- ★ What have you learned about Jesus that you want to remember a year from now? (Day 30)
Make your plans (15 minutes)
Give everyone time to fill in their next steps plan: Scripture, prayer, church, another disciple, and love for others. Encourage plans small enough to keep. Have each person share one part with the group.
Pray (15 minutes)
In pairs or threes, pray over each other’s plans. Thank God for specific grace you have seen in each person this month.
Leader notes
- Don’t let it end here. Decide what happens next as a group: keep meeting, join another group, or make sure each person has a mentor. Nobody should leave this meeting alone.
- Suffering. If someone is carrying something heavy (day 26), listen rather than explain. If it involves crisis or danger, involve a pastor or appropriate help right away.
- Unfinished days. Some will not have finished all 30. Encourage them to keep going at their own pace. The goal is a way of life, not a finished booklet.
