Week 4 · Living as a disciple

Day 30
Keep learning to know Jesus

Before you read, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the passage and respond honestly.

Read

Philippians 3:7-14; Matthew 28:18-20

Read in the ESV ↗

Read the whole passage slowly, twice if you can. Then come back here.

Understand

Paul values knowing Christ above the achievements he once relied on. His righteousness rests on faith in Christ. He has not finished growing, so he presses on toward the goal Christ sets before him. Jesus commissions disciples under his authority and promises his continuing presence.

You have reached the end of a plan, not the end of discipleship. Knowing Jesus remains central. Keep receiving Scripture, talking with the Father, depending on the Spirit, and following Jesus with his people. Let these habits serve relationship. As you grow, you can help someone else begin. You will still be a learner while you do so.

Pray

Jesus, thank you for what you have taught me this month. Keep drawing me into a closer relationship with you. Holy Spirit, help me continue in faith, love, and obedience, and make me useful to others. Amen.

Use this as a starting point, then speak in your own words.

Reflect

What have you learned about Jesus, and what next step would help you know and follow him more deeply?

Act today

Complete your next steps plan. Meet with your companion or a pastor to discuss it. Choose your next Bible reading, protect a realistic daily prayer time, and arrange another check-in. Thank God for one specific evidence of grace.
