Week 4 · Living as a disciple
Day 25
Practice generous stewardship
Before you read, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the passage and respond honestly.
Read
2 Corinthians 9:6-15
Read in the ESV ↗Read the whole passage slowly, twice if you can. Then come back here.
Understand
Paul is encouraging a collection for believers in need. He connects willing generosity with God’s provision and the thanksgiving it produces. God’s gifts equip his people to share. The passage is not a technique for making yourself wealthy through a financial offering.
Stewardship means caring for what God entrusts to you. A disciple can practice generosity with money, time, or practical resources while taking responsibilities seriously. Giving should be willing and thoughtful, never manipulated by claims that God’s favor is for sale. If your resources are limited, your dignity and belonging in Christ’s people are not diminished.
Pray
Father, thank you for what you have entrusted to me. Free me from greed and fear. Give me wisdom to meet my responsibilities and generosity that serves others with a willing heart. Amen.
Use this as a starting point, then speak in your own words.
Reflect
What fear or desire most shapes the way you use your resources?
Act today
Review one part of your spending or schedule. Choose a responsible act of generosity that meets an actual need. You may give time or help rather than money. Pray for the person receiving it, and give without expecting control, repayment, or spiritual credit.
