Before the meeting
- Read Acts 2:41-47 and skim days 15 to 21.
- Find out who at your church handles baptisms, groups, and serving, so you can make real introductions.
Open (10 minutes)
Ask each person to share one discovery, one question, and one prayer need from this week.
Read together (10 minutes)
Read Acts 2:41-47 aloud. Notice what the first believers did together.
Discuss (30 minutes)
Questions marked ★ matter most if time runs short.
- ★ Which part of the shared life in Acts 2 is most missing from your week? (Day 15)
- ★ Have you asked a pastor about being baptized? What, if anything, is holding you back? (Day 16)
- Is there someone you need to apologize to, or a hurt you need help bringing to God? (Day 17. Answer only as much as you want to share.)
- Which ordinary task do you resist because it seems beneath you? (Day 18)
- Are you more tempted to feel unnecessary in the church, or to act as though you need no one? (Day 19)
- ★ Who has helped you follow Jesus, and what did they do? (Day 21)
Live it
Take one concrete step with the church this week: ask to be baptized, join a group, or ask where you can serve.
Pray (15 minutes)
In pairs or threes, pray for each person’s next step with the church. If someone named a relationship that needs forgiveness, pray for it together.
Leader notes
- Baptism. Every new believer should be baptized now, even if they were baptized at an earlier time in their life. Being baptized again does no harm. Encourage each person to ask a pastor this week, and offer to go with them. A healthy church will gladly help. If theirs will not, help them find one that will. See Do I have to be baptized?
- Forgiveness and safety. Encourage specific apologies where appropriate. If someone describes abuse or danger, do not push reconciliation. Talk with them privately and involve a pastor promptly.
- Hurt by church before. Some people carry painful church experiences. Listen without arguing, and offer to sit with them on Sunday.
