Week 3 · Following Jesus with his people
Day 21
Encourage a fellow disciple
Before you read, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the passage and respond honestly.
Read
Hebrews 10:19-25
Read in the ESV ↗Read the whole passage slowly, twice if you can. Then come back here.
Understand
The writer grounds confidence to approach God in Jesus’ sacrifice and priestly care. From that foundation, believers are called to hold their hope, consider one another, and keep gathering. Encouragement helps people persevere in faith and love.
You have something to offer even while you are new. A thoughtful question, a prayer, or a specific word of gratitude can help another disciple. Gathering is more than receiving something useful for yourself. It is also an opportunity to consider how your presence can strengthen someone else. This shared life supports, rather than replaces, your daily relationship with Jesus.
Pray
Father, thank you for access to you through Jesus. Help me hold to your promises and encourage others. Make me attentive to someone who needs care, and willing to receive encouragement myself. Amen.
Use this as a starting point, then speak in your own words.
Reflect
Who has helped you follow Jesus, and what specifically have they done?
Act today
Thank that person directly. Then review days 15-21 with your companion. Discuss one next step in church connection, baptism, or service. Ask each other what has helped daily Bible reading and prayer, and pray about the obstacles you are facing.
