Week 3 · Following Jesus with his people

Day 15
You belong with other disciples

Before you read, ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the passage and respond honestly.

Read

Acts 2:41-47

Read in the ESV ↗

Read the whole passage slowly, twice if you can. Then come back here.

Understand

After Peter’s proclamation of Jesus, the first believers are baptized and enter a shared life of teaching, fellowship, prayer, meals, and generous care. Acts describes what happened in that setting. It also shows lasting priorities for a church centered on Christ.

Fellowship means participating in a shared life of faith. It includes friendship, yet goes deeper than enjoying the same activities. Disciples help one another learn, endure, and obey Jesus. You can begin by being present and letting someone know you. You do not need to join every program to start belonging or to prove your commitment.

Pray

Father, thank you for bringing me into your people. Help me receive teaching and care. Lead me toward trustworthy relationships where I can learn, contribute, and grow as Jesus' disciple. Amen.

Use this as a starting point, then speak in your own words.

Reflect

Which part of the shared life in Acts 2 is most missing from your week?

Act today

Plan to attend the next church gathering you can. Contact a pastor, group leader, or welcome team member and ask how a new disciple can connect. Use the church's current published contact information rather than waiting to know someone personally.
