Before the meeting
- Read John 15:1-11 and skim days 8 to 14.
- Follow up on any questions you promised to look into last time.
Open (10 minutes)
Ask each person to share one discovery, one question, and one prayer need from this week.
Read together (10 minutes)
Read John 15:1-11 aloud. Ask: what does it look like to “abide” on an ordinary Tuesday?
Discuss (30 minutes)
Questions marked ★ matter most if time runs short.
- ★ What has your daily time with Jesus actually looked like? What helps, and what gets in the way? (Days 8 and 9)
- Which verse did you summarize in your own words on day 10? What did it mean?
- ★ Which part of the prayer Jesus taught gets the least attention when you pray? (Day 11)
- Where do you need the Spirit’s help to obey something you already understand? (Day 12)
- ★ What changes when you believe honesty with God leads to mercy, not just exposure? (Day 13)
- Which part of the Spirit’s fruit would change one relationship this week? (Day 14)
Live it
Pray through Matthew 6:9-13 once a day this week, putting each part into your own words.
Pray (15 minutes)
In pairs or threes, use the pattern of Matthew 6:9-13 together: praise, God’s will, daily needs, forgiveness, protection.
Leader notes
- Day 13 confession is private. Day 13 asks people to name a specific sin to God. Never ask anyone to share it in the group. If someone wants to talk about it, do that one on one. If what they share involves harm to someone, danger, or something beyond what you can carry, bring in a pastor.
- Bible reading that feels dry. Reassure people that faithful attention matters more than strong feelings. An audio Bible helps those who find reading hard.
- Guilt mistaken for God’s voice. Help people tell the difference between clear teaching in Scripture and anxiety. Big decisions belong with a pastor.
