If God loves me, why is life still hard?
Following Jesus does not remove all hardship. Jesus told his disciples plainly that they would have trouble in this world, and also that he has overcome the world (John 16:33).
Do not assume that every painful event is a punishment, and be careful with anyone who claims to know exactly why God allowed a particular sorrow. The Bible gives you something more solid: nothing can separate God’s children from his love in Christ (Romans 8:31-39).
You can bring pain to God honestly. Many of the Psalms are prayers of grief and confusion. You do not have to pretend you are fine.
You also do not have to carry it alone. Tell a trusted disciple or pastor what you are facing and let your church help. If you are in crisis or danger, get help right away from someone who can be with you.

Still have a question?
Write it down and bring it to a pastor or a mature disciple at your church. You were never meant to figure this out alone.
